BMW is putting the final touches to the new 8 Series in a number of test drives happening in Wales. The focus of these drives is the new BMW M850i xDrive Coupe. And just saying this ‘M850i’ part makes me soooo excited about the car.
The reveal of the second generation of BMW’s 8 Series Coupe is fast approaching and the bavarians decided to finally share some official information on the car.
So what the scoop on the new BMW M850i
First, the car is powered by a ‘completely redeveloped V8 engine‘ that sends power to all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, it features adaptive M suspension Professional with active roll stabilisation (hey, I’m just quoting here, I didn’t come up with that name :D) and the car will also have Active Steering.
The engine will have an output of 530hp and 750Nm of torque available at around 1800rpm and it will be mated with an ‘extensively further developed’ (again, still quoting BMW, not my words :D) 8-speed ZF transmission. I’m guessing it’s the same one used in the new BMW M5.
And that’s kind of it really. The car will go on sale in 2018 and a new BMW M8 will follow soon after.
I cannot wait to drive one! Until I do, here’s some images of a zebra.. I mean the new M850i xDrive Coupe.
